If you drink coffee, you can apply it too.
Sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it? Applying coffee? The immediate questions that pop in my mind; How? Where? What?
It is time, ladies and gentlemen, to recognize the true powers of this wondrous superhero. If you thought coffee was something you could only drink, prepare to have your mind blown.
We make delicious cups of coffee every single day of our lives and devour them through and through, but we always, always throw away the residue. Have you ever thought about how much coffee you were throwing away while doing so? How much of that precious pixie dust you were putting away into the garbage? I know I surely have.
If you have thought of the same atleast once in your life, you would have felt an emotion in which your heart just sinks and you feel like you have no choice but to throw it away.
Here comes your saving grace. There is no need to throw away that much coffee residue anymore. Multiple uses have been found for coffee residue.
The major use lies in the department of beauty. These fresh coffee residues not only clear but also energize and tighten the skin. The best partner for coffee residue is coconut oil. Put these two together and you have discovered a splendid something.
Whether is it is after a long week and you just want to relax your body, or just the morning after a sleepless, exhausting night resulting in nothing more but puffy-tired eyes and dark circles. Coffee is literally your best friend.
- A coffee under eye mask: Mix some coconut oil with some of the coffee residue (you can alternatively use curd with the coffee residue) and you have a nice, grainy paste. Apply that under your eyes, making sure to not get any on the inside and leave it to dry for 15 minutes while you enjoy your delicious coffee. Wash it off and you will see immediate results. Your eyes will feel more relaxed, you can kiss goodbye to your puffy eyes and with time and usage you will definitely see your dark circles disappear.
- A coffee face mask: mix some coffee residue with curd and a small spoon of turmeric powder. Apply this mixture on your face and on your neck (avoiding your eyes). Leave it on for 15 – 20 minutes and wash it off. Your face will feel light, clean, bright and extremely happy.
- A coffee scrub for your body: You read that right. With the struggle to maintain a presentable face, we often ignore the rest of the body. But Aromas of Coorg doesn’t let you down here either. A coffee scrub that is made using your fresh coffee residue mixed with some curd or coconut oil (according to your preference) and some honey and you’re all set to give your body the love and care it deserves. Scrub that mixture on your body (making sure, not to scrub too harsh) leave it on for 15-20 minutes and enjoy a nice warm shower to wash it off. Your body will thank you endlessly. This scrub makes you feel nice and relaxed and brightens the skin as well. Another plus point, after your shower, your bathroom will be left with a beautiful coffee aroma.
- Coffee masks for hair: mix a little coffee residue in your henna mix or your regular hair masks to have nourished and beautiful lush hair.
The above methods are a few simple, easy but effective uses of coffee residue to help you feel better about your skin and not just that but actually make your skin softer. Try these methods as often as atleast twice or thrice a week to see best results.
I am currently using coffee from Aromas of Coorg and I can assure you that they’re one of the best in town. I can guarantee that only because there are very few things I love more than I love my coffee and Aromas of Coorg has helped me maintain that 100%. Their variety allows you to play and experiment with your coffee palate. Very fresh always, this is a very necessary advantage if you’re going to use it on your skin. They ‘Roast to order’ their blends which means that you have the absolute freedom to pick from the best of how you want your coffee and your coffee grounds.
Like anything in this world, you will never know until you try.
So try them and see the magic for yourself.
Ladies and Gentlemen, most importantly, enjoy this process of self care.
P.S: The above methods have been tried and tested by me (The Author). Make sure to check for allergies (if you have any) before you use any of the products mentioned above. Do not lose heart if you do not see results on your first go. Everybody’s skin reacts differently and takes different times to process what is being put on it. You know your skin best, so make your choices accordingly. Enjoy!
